Tovala Oven Malfunction | Customer Service Was Fast!

Yesterday, I was trying to cook my second Tovala meal from the meal plan when the oven wouldn't start the cooking process.

The error that came up was to add more water.  I know I had added water that morning, to the tune of maybe 4 ounces.  So I added more.

Apparently too much still but the console kept referring to add more.  I stopped when I noticed it didn't make a single difference, and water had begun overflowing into the drip tray.

I contacted customer service through the app.  Frankly, I was shocked that there was a live customer service agent in the US that would answer around dinner time.

They had me manually reset the oven and try again.  Still no good, water level was too low ... but it allowed me to start the cooking.  (Apparently the oven blocks cooking with steam if water is too low, but if it is already started it won't stop it).

After a few more exchanges it became clear that Tovala would have to send out a replacement oven due to what they think is a faulty water sensor.

I should be hearing back from them within this week about it, and will update the results later.

For now, I have to trick the oven into cooking my food without steam function.  Luckily, the food came out OK.  More about that later in another post.

Overall pretty positive experience with customer service.  Not so much with the oven since its literally the 2nd time I used it with their meal service.  But if the replacement goes well...

Update 2019-04-19 Replacement Oven has arrived.
